DIY tassels scarf

I can’t believe summer is over. It’s time to take sweaters, scarfs and boots out of the closet. Actually, even if I live in Mexico, I wear boots all year long…what makes some laugh! I also love wearing scarfs, it’s comfy and add a nice touch of color at an outfit. So here is a simple idea, to make a tassels one. You can purchase a nice fabric or customize a scarf you already own.

You gonna need a piece of fabric (mine is a piece of cotton 40″ x 70″), or a scarf you want to customize. The tassels I made are about 4″ long and I used 7 matching embroidery yarn.

Cut a piece of cardboard of 4″ and wrap the yarn around.

With a piece of yarn, you gonna make a knot to attach all the yarn together. Tight it as much as you can.

Take off the cardboard, and cut one side of the yarn.

Take the side of the scarf where you gonna put the tassel and gather the fabric with a thread and a needle.

Sew the tassel with the scarf.

Cosa el pompón con tu bufanda.

Couds le pompon avec ton foulard.

To have a nice finish, wrap thread around the fabric. Make a few stitch to fix it.
